The National IT Board (NITB) and the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) have signed an MoU to collaborate on the design, development, deployment, integration, operationalization, and hosting of the National Pharmaceutical Products Track & Trace System. The soft launch ceremony of the “First AI-Enabled Parliamentary System in the National Assembly of Pakistan and AI-Powered Transformation of the Speaker’s Office” was held today at the Parliament House, Islamabad, marking a landmark step in the digital transformation of parliamentary governance. The initiative was launched under the leadership of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and in accordance with the vision of the Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, with special acknowledgment of the efforts of Syeda Amnah Batool, who was entrusted by the Honourable Speaker National Assembly to liaise with the National Information Technology Board (NITB) and chaired a series of consultative meetings focused on developing an integrated digital ecosystem for the Speaker’s Office. The ceremony was attended by Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Syed Amin-ul-Haque, parliamentarians, senior officials of the National Information Technology Board (NITB), media representatives, and other distinguished dignitaries. The event featured the demonstration and launch of the AI-Enabled Parliamentary System and AI-Powered Digital Transformation of the Speaker’s Office. Developed in close collaboration with the National Information Technology Board, the initiative significantly enhanced parliamentary efficiency by facilitating Members in conducting the Business of the House in a more streamlined, structured, and technology-enabled manner. It introduced a secure, 100% on-premises AI platform exclusively designed for parliamentary use, ensuring complete data sovereignty with all parliamentary data hosted within Pakistan and fully controlled by the National Assembly, thereby strengthening institutional security, autonomy, and trust in digital governance. This transformative initiative supported Sustainable Development Goal 12 on responsible consumption and production and aligned with the Government of Pakistan’s austerity measures through the promotion of paperless, resource-efficient parliamentary operations. It reflected a major step towards a smarter, more efficient, transparent, and digitally empowered Parliament of Pakistan.

By onboarding ICTA services onto a unified national platform, we are streamlining processes and enabling efficient, accessible, and digitally driven public services such as domicile certificates, birth & death registration, property tax services, and arms licenses. Under DEEP, this milestone reinforces our vision of a connected, citizen-centric governance model for Pakistan.

ICTA & NITB Inaugurate Digital Systems to Enhance Labour Governance The Office of the Chief Commissioner, ICT Administration, Islamabad, in collaboration with National IT Board, launched the Online Registration System for Factories and Shops/Establishments and presented a demonstration of the Labour Inspection Management System (LIMS) marking an important milestone in the digital transformation of labour administration. The initiative is aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, regulatory oversight, and service delivery for the benefit of both the department and the public.

This strategic collaboration marks a significant step toward integrating Excise & Taxation services into the national digital ecosystem, enabling enhanced service delivery, greater transparency, and improved accessibility for citizens. By onboarding the Excise department’s services onto a unified digital platform, this initiative will streamline processes and provide citizens with more convenient, efficient access through digital channels. Under the umbrella of DEEP, this milestone further reinforces our vision of building a unified national digital platform and fostering a more efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric Digital Pakistan.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the National Information Technology Board (NITB) and the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) to strengthen digital collaboration and integrate DRAP services into the National Citizen Services Platform. This collaboration represents a significant step towards integrating citizen-centric regulatory and health-related services into the National Citizen Services Platform, enabling citizens to access essential services in a more transparent, efficient, and digitally enabled environment. The partnership with DRAP will further strengthen the national digital ecosystem for public service delivery while enhancing citizens’ access to services related to medicines, regulatory facilitation for citizens. Together, we continued working towards the vision of a Digital Pakistan by bringing key government services onto a unified digital platform.

Under the Digital Economy Enhancement Project (DEEP), the National Information Technology Board (NITB) and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) have formalized a strategic partnership to accelerate Pakistan's digital governance. This MoU establishes a framework for integrating federal revenue services into a unified national digital platform, aimed at enhancing data interoperability and streamlining taxpayer experiences. By leveraging NITB’s technical infrastructure, the collaboration seeks to eliminate administrative silos, drive transparency, and build a more robust, tech-enabled economic ecosystem for the country.

The National Information Technology Board (NITB) and the Common Criteria Pakistan Lab (CCPL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for collaboration in the areas of secure IT systems, technology evaluation, innovation, and capacity building, in support of national digital transformation initiatives.

Honourable Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the Pakistan Asaan Khidmat Center in Islamabad, marking a milestone in citizen-centric public service. The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude towards the Government of Azerbaijan for its cooperation and technological support, and appreciated the role of the relevant Ministries and Departments. The Center, a joint initiative with Azerbaijan, offers 60+ services from 12 government departments under one roof.
